SnakePlissken.net Rules

By registering at our forums you are acknowledging that you have read and agree to adhere to our rules.

Changes may be made to the rules at any time as deemed necessary by staff. When updates are made to the rules there will be an announcement made in the Front Desk Forum. It is your responsibility to read the announcements. If any of the following rules are broken, you may receive up to three warnings before being banned depending on the severity. When you log in after being banned you will receive a message stating why and for how long your board privileges have been revoked.

1. Common Courtesy: This is pretty much the golden rule here. Be respectful towards each other and staff and you will be fine. Behavior included under common courtesy are as follows:

a) Flaming: This is simple. It is not tolerated at all. This also means that you cannot encourage people to flame you either (flame-baiting.)  Please keep in mind that this rule applies to any offending pictures or avatars used on our forums.

b ) Abuse of Staff: The staff here on the board works hard to maintain a friendly place for fans to get together and have discussions. In return for the amount of time they put into this board maintaining it we request that you are respectful towards them just like we expect you to be respectful to all community members. If you disagree with a staff member's decision please contact the board administrator. Be sure to also include any relevant links in your email and it will be reviewed by the admin. Please keep in mind that any harassment or threats of bodily harm against staff will be taken seriously and we reserve the right to report you to your internet service provider.

c) Be Respectful: Remember that although these are just words on the internet there is a human being sitting at the other side of the keyboard. Take a moment to read what you just typed before you hit the reply button and think about how you would feel if someone said it to you. In your posts please do not overuse the formatting tools provided on our forums. Bold, underlining, italics, multiple colors and large fonts are great to help get a point across but when used in excess it becomes quite headache inducing.

2. Language: Please keep language to a PG-13 level.

3. Personal Information: Please keep in mind that any personal information you put in your profile can be seen by any registered member of our forums. This means that if you put your AIM, MSN, YIM, ICQ or Skype information that you are inviting others to contact you off of our site. We are not responsible for any harassing communication that you may receive through there. The staff only moderates the forums, private messages or emails sent through the boards system.  Any problems that you have through messenger services or on other forums needs to be reported to those providers/hosts. This means that when you enter that information, it is at your own risk.

4. Spamming: This includes everything from repeatedly posting one-word answers to advertising other sites. Unless the administrator of the board approves the site, it is not allowed to be posted here. The first offense will result in a warning depending on the amount of advertising done. However, if you sign up for the board exclusively to advertise your site here you will be banned immediately and permanently. If you want people to know about a site use that field in your profile to enter it in.

5. Private Messaging/Email System: These functions have been added to the site for your convenience. If you are caught abusing them to spam, harass or threaten fellow community members you will be banned immediately. If you are a recipient of such emails or private messages please forward the whole message to one of our staff members.

6. Search Function: Please use the search function before starting new threads especially in cases of breaking news stories or commonly discussed topics.

7. Aliases: These are not allowed. Period. One account is enough. If you are caught using an alias you will be banned. Our staff here reserves the right to permanently ban a "problematic IP." By this we mean that if an IP address of a new registration matches the IP of a previously banned account then we will ban any new registrations traced back to that banned IP. This type of ban is not up for review.

8. Advertising: We have a strict no advertising rule here on the board. We briefly mention it in the spamming rule but it bears repeating. Unless you have permission from the administrator you are not permitted to post links to outside boards for the purpose of increasing traffic to said site

9. Posting of Pictures/Videos: Any pictures/videos posted on our forums must comply with our TOS. This site is PG-13 so that means that pornography is NOT permitted. Posting of pornography or links to sites where pornography is available, is cause for a permanent banning. Pictures/Videos may also not contain any expletives, racial slurs, or flames as in accordance with the rules stated above.

10. Signature Rules: Signatures are afforded to you with the intention of you putting your own little taste on your posts. You are allowed a banner not to exceed 600x150pixels. HTML has been allowed, If you have a banner AND text, We ask that you keep the text under 6 lines (You may use HTML goodies to put your lists and other texts in dropdown boxes). Signature violations can result in systematic warnings.
